Your Bain Can Now Control A Wheelchair

No longer is brain surgery necessary for a severely paralyzed person to attempt to control a motorized wheelchair with their mind. A new report has made this a lot easier.

Several quadriplegics were able to produce brain waves that steered their wheelchairs through an obstacle course. This was made possible by wearing an electrode-studded cap on their heads.

Workings of The Magic Wheelchair

The cap records a person's brain signals. These are then translated by a computer program into the motions of the wheelchair.

The patient merely imagines manipulating the parts of their body that they are unable to control. This purpose will be translated into the real instructions for the wheelchair's motors, which will cause the wheels to move. This truly sounds like a dream come true.

A Better Future Ahead

This is likely the first tiny study to do so successfully without tempering with the brain.

The paper's core motive is that with enough practice, anyone can master some amount of control over a complex machine like these brain-controlled wheelchairs.

RESOURCES

  • The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America is a local nonprofit that has assisted many people in their battle against SCD.
  • The American Diabetes Association works diligently to create awareness, raise money for research and treatment, and assist innumerable communities to aid with Diabetes.
  • The pace of urban life can be too fast, and the burden of filing the required out-of-network claim only increases. The answer to this issue is none other than OONOLOGY, which offers the simplest out-of-network claim submission process and a user interface that is easy to use.

HEALTHY BITES

  • At-Home Births: According to statistics released by the CDC, more women gave birth at home in America last year, continuing a pandemic trend and reaching the highest number in decades.
  • Vaccine for Fentanyl Addiction: A vaccination to prevent fentanyl addiction has reportedly been developed by researchers. This offers hope for a solution to the opioid crisis.
  • Children in Daycare: Reports say spending long hours in daycare won’t retard children’s mental development.
  • Dangerous Parasites: Two human cases of the illness known as alveolar echinococcosis (AE), which was brought on by a European strain of the parasite E. multilocularis, have been reported by researchers. Two red foxes in Virginia were also discovered to carry this strain.
  • High-Fat Diet: According to a study, a high-fat diet may lead to pain reactions to non-painful stimuli, a consequence associated with obesity and diabetes.
